What did you want to be when you grew up? And where did you get your information from?
Lincoln Agritech Research and Development Engineer Matt Fraser has just done his bit to encourage young people to consider a career in agricultural engineering.
Matt was interviewed for Science Alive and Education Perfect’s kaupapa The World of Engineering: Te ao o Mātai Pūhanga, encouraging tamariki to think about engineering as a cool career. He explains how he became an engineer, talks about his job with Lincoln Agritech, and also explains that Aotearoa’s large primary industry sector has many roles available for engineers.
This video is now embedded in an online interactive lesson for 8- to 12-year-olds, helping them learn more about agricultural engineering, and even have a go at one client brief.
The World of Engineering: Te ao o Mātai Pūhanga is a free interactive resource for all learners in Aotearoa New Zealand, produced by Science Alive Charitable Trust and Education Perfect under the umbrella Science Alive Mātauranga.
