Simon Pollock

Simon leads the Environmental Research Group at Lincoln Agritech, driving research and partnerships that strengthen New Zealand’s understanding of groundwater systems, water quality, and long-term water security. He works across science, industry, iwi, councils, and central government to turn complex hydrogeological challenges into practical, decision-ready solutions.

Holding an MSc in groundwater–surface water interactions and water quality from the University of Otago, Simon brings more than a decade of applied environmental experience in hydrogeology, irrigation system modelling, contaminated land, and environmental risk assessment. He is a Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP), accredited by the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand.

Simon is committed to building and leading multidisciplinary teams that deliver science with real-world outcomes, improving how communities, industries, and regions plan for, manage, and sustain their water resources.
