Eva Anton

Electromagnetic Sensing Senior Scientist & Team Leader

Eva Anton

Dipl.-Ing, Dr.-Ing, Science Technical Uni, Darmstadt

Eva joined Lincoln Agritech in 2022 as Senior Scientist and Electromagnetic Sensing Team Leader. She gained her masters and doctorate degrees in Materials Science at Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany, and has since done research at KU Leuven in Belgium and Victoria University of Wellington.

Eva’s research is driven by her passion for new materials, curiosity about their properties and the goal to use their enhanced functionalities to improve existing applications or to develop new device concepts.

Her research has included developing ferroelectrics for sensor and actuator applications that do not need lead (which is toxic), then integrating these environmentally friendly ferroelectrics into thin films, for future use in micro-electro mechanical devices (devices so small they can only be seen using a microscope).

In another project she studied materials with a rare combination of magnetic and semiconducting properties, the rare-earth nitrides, to investigate their application in spintronic devices. By combining thin layers of different rare-earth nitrides, a magnetic computer memory can be made, which is faster and more energy efficient than existing electronic memory technology.

Her current research uses microwaves in smart sensing and imaging tools for medical and agricultural applications.
