Research and Development Engineer, Greentech

We seek an experienced Research and Development Engineer to join our Greentech initiative within our Sensing Technology Group. You will have passion for mitigating climate change through the development and deployment of Greentech, and have proven skills in electrochemistry and its application to research projects.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • An applicable PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or a related field; or a Masters with suitable industry experience.
  • 3-5 years’ proven industry experience, desirable; with applications from post-doctoral candidates considered.
  • Sufficient familiarity and comfort with engineering and physical sciences knowledge for general electrochemistry, catalysis and gas adsorbtion applications alongside the aptitude to delve into the literature and research specific narrow topics within this realm.
  • Sufficent experience and familiarity with mechanical or mechatronics engineering to develop experimental hardware for small scale prototypes through to medium scale pilot plants.
  • Awareness of economics and business models that drive company strategy and their investment in new technologies.
  • Can apply existing skills to new problems, and also quickly learn new skills in unfamiliar or new areas of technology.
  • Is capable of generating innovative technical solutions by trying different and novel ways to deal with problems and opportunities.
  • Familiarity with New Zealand’s science funding system and some experience writing applications for research funding desirable.
  • Can maintain an awareness of project progress, ensuring they are on track and where appropriate, managed.
  • Good writing skills, and proficient at producing substantial reports.

Process Development Engineer, New Materials

Permanent Full-time

We seek a qualified Process Development Engineer to join our New Materials Group to provide the engineering expertise to the “New Uses for Crossbred Wool” contract between Lincoln Agritech Limited and Wool Industry Research Ltd (WIRL). The project is of national significance aiming to transform the important New Zealand wool industry. The role is great opportunity for an early career engineer to work within an established team of Research Scientists and Technicians through the bench scale and scale up stages of the project and grow as the project evolves.

You will have proven skills in working closely with others and deliver client focused outcomes. You will have demonstrated abilities in operating engineering equipment, while troubleshooting, or designing and commissioning modifications and improvements as required.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in chemical and/or process engineering.
  • 1-2 years’ proven and applicable experience.
  • Experience in mechanical aptitude to installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Capability of operating the bench scale process lines, including handling hazardous chemicals, where safety is always top of mind.
  • Experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Awareness of project schedules and delivery to client.
  • Sound problem solving skills, with demonstrated attention to detail.

Market Research Analyst

Permanent Full-time

We are looking for an experienced Market Research Analyst to join our team to support the Business Development & Marketing team and wider company with market research and business analysis to support current, future and proposed research and development projects.

This role will involve:

  • Undertaking a variety of market assessment and validation activities for research proposals, which will include desk research and structured information collection.
  • Performing valid and reliable market research and SWOT analysis, defining and using quantitative and qualitative measures and methodology for monitoring and reporting purposes.
  • Collecting data on consumers, competitors, and general market trends, consolidating information into actionable items, reports and presentations.
  • Researching new areas of interest for the Company, understanding market needs and opportunities for current projects and exisiting technology and products.
  • Researching and documenting Government and key account strategies and priorities to identify project opportunities for Lincoln Agritech.
  • Conducting freedom-to-operate searches (using Patsnap IP software) and organise patent lawyer assistance where required.
  • Interpreting data, formulating reports and making recommendations; identifying how best to use the findings, including assisting in the preparation of business cases.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 5 years’ relevant market research and analysis experience.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing or similar.
  • Experience working in a science, R&D or agriculture company would be an advantage.
  • Sound understanding in the areas of data analysis and business reporting, with the ability to collate, analyse and summarise data, draft outcomes and present in a cohesive manner to a variety of people.
  • Experience with providing research and analysis for business cases and project proposals, including economic, environmental, social and cultural aspects, and impact assessments.
  • Knowledge and experience of a range of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc.).
  • Sound ability with search engines, web analytics and business research tools.
  • Experience conducting research by various means (i.e. cold calling, internet and database searching) to gain information.
  • Advanced computing skills including Microsoft applications.
