Accelerating the future of aerial data in agriculture

Seventy people from across New Zealand’s innovation ecosystem recently gathered in Christchurch for Sky to Soil, an event hosted by Lincoln Agritech and the NZ Product Accelerator.

Bringing together researchers, farmers, growers, technology providers, regulators and innovators, the event focused on one key question: how do we accelerate the adoption of aerial data in agriculture?

Discussions explored how aerial sensing technologies can help transform data into better on-farm decisions, improving productivity while supporting more sustainable land management.

Together, participants identified barriers to adoption, practical solutions and immediate actions that could help unlock greater value from aerial technologies.

The workshop reinforced the importance of collaboration between research, industry and government in ensuring new technologies deliver practical outcomes where they matter most.
