Nicholas Glithero
BSc
Nick has a BSc in Microbiology from the University of Canterbury and joined Lincoln Agritech in 2006. He has contributed towards developing the environmental biosensor, SciTOX™, for rapid BOD and toxicity monitoring. He is also studying towards an MSc in Biochemistry at Lincoln University.
He has particular interests in:
- Direct electron transfer enzyme biosensors adapted to detect specific substrates
- Identification and cultivation of microorganisms with extracellular enzyme production useful in substrate detection and bioconversion
- Liquid handling technology for real time process sampling.
His research subjects are:
- Electrochemistry
- Biosensors
- Waste-powered fuel cells.
